In this course, students learn to create particle effects designed for video games using Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara.

The first step involves the creation of a mood board, serving as a visual blueprint of their particle effects. They capture their desired atmosphere by featuring two simple yet dynamic particles that loop within the game level. Then a unique build-up is put together, compromising three distinct phases: Begin, Middle, and End. Each phase unfolds through three carefully designed steps bringing it up to a total of nine crucial stages.

Once the mood boards received their final feedback, students transition to the practical phase of the course. They start creating their particles using Niagara in Unreal Engine 5. They have the flexibility to opt for existing sprite sheets or take a creative leap in making their own, which gives them more control over the visual style they wish to embrace.

In summary students learn to conceptualize, design, and implement stunning particle effects in Unreal Engine 5 using the powerful capabilities of Niagara.
