Level Editors are programs where 3D models, textures, effects, sounds and code are combined to create a wonderful playable level in a game.
The level editor is a vital tool in any modern game production process, because this is where all the parts come together to form a game.
In this course we will learn to use level editors by working with the widely spread Unreal Development Kit. We will build an entire playable and fun level for the Unreal Tournament 3 game, taking into account the design and the flow of gameplay in the level.
Besides this level we will also look into the material editor so we can build shaders. Shaders combine the textures we made into realistically looking materials so our models look just like they are supposed to do. We can also use shaders for other interesting effects such as animated materials.
