For the Rigging Course our 2nd year VFX students learned the basics of character rigging and applied that to a given mesh. In their demo’s they prove to understand how to do IK-FK arms with matching (and Low arm twisting!), IK or FK spines, IK legs with extra foot controls, all with stretching. The face rigs were done with blendShapes and were kept rather basic. The focus of this assignment was to build an animator friendly rig that offered all necessary functionality to start keying!
The students used the character models from Brecht Verborgh, Hendrik Coppens, Joffrie Dewinter, Pieter Glorie, Brent Rombouts and Xander Clercks..
