After a short semester of getting acquainted with Zbrush and human anatomy our second year students had to make their first complete character. The subject was free to choose, and most went for fan art from games, movies and series.
The focus was conveying the concept of the character and all its attributes, forcing them to think about design, practicing anatomy and cloth, sometimes even doing hard surface objects.
They used Zbrush for the sculpting process, and additionaly used 3Ds Max or Maya for modeling and retopologising. Using Zbrushes BPR renderer was ideal to learn all about compositing a good presentation.
